How to Continue your Benefits After Your Bodywork Session

The best thing you can do after your bodywork session is to move your body and drink lots of water.

We know, but you are so relaxed and want to go right to sleep after your session.

If sleep calls to you, and improving your sleep is one of the main reasons you have come in for a session, honor that feeling and continue giving your body the rest it needs. Take a beautiful nap.

If your main focus for your session wasn’t sleep, then MOVE, MOVE, MOVE after your bodywork session.

  • Move after your session.

    • Plan to go on a 20-30 minute walk after your session to promote the release of everything we moved around in your body during the session.

  • On your walk, continue the breathwork you learned in your session.

    • Take note of the sounds you hear, the smells you smell, and the sights you see. Consciously listing these things to yourself naturally brings you to the present moment and what you are experiencing around you and in your body.

  • Drink at least 60 oz of water after your session to flush your system.

    • End your water intake at least two hours before you sleep so it doesn’t interfere with your sleep.

    • Keep your water intake up over the next few days and longer! Well, always really–consider using one of our favorite mantras, “water first,” and do just that every morning with at least 8 oz of water first thing in the morning to get your body going.

  • Take an Epsom salt bath 90 minutes or more before bed to further the relaxation from your session and continue the natural detox of massage.

    • Start including Epsom salt baths in your routine for the many benefits to your health.

    • We recommend keeping it simple and healthy for you and your skin by using pure magnesium sulfate and adding your favorite essential oil. Bonus: a bulk bag of pure Epsom and essential oils is more economical than the fancy alternatives.

    • Also, unfortunately, many of the fancy bubble baths and scented Epsom salts have ingredients that can harm your health–not what you want to soak in.

  • And, of course, schedule your next session no greater than one month from your last!

Bonus: Drink herbal teas (dandelion root, chamomile, lavender, etc)
